Home Learning

Evening all,
On Friday we will be a holding a MacMillan coffee morning in the school hall, it would be great if you could pop in to support this fantastic charity.
The children will not need money to buy cakes as we will be making a donation from the snack money you have already paid. The children will have a cake from the MacMillan morning for snack as a Friday treat.

This week I have been very impressed with how settled the children have been. They are beginning to mix well with their peers and are enjoying getting to know one another.
Just a reminder that you need to say goodbye to your child outside the door and a member of staff will support them with their coats and bags.
A big thank you for your cooperation in following this, the mornings appear to be calmer and we are able to start our day on time.

This week we have introduced the ‘Good Choice’ marble jar. The children have loved earning a marble for the class jar by making a good choice and once the jar is full they will get to enjoy a class treat, how exciting!

Home Learning Tasks
Throughout the year we will ask you to carry out home learning tasks at home. This is usually a craft that is linked to the topic we are doing or a skill that we would like to be practised at home. Your first home learning task is to create an  ‘All About Me’ poster that we can display in the classroom all year round. This will give the children the opportunity to discuss with us a little more about themselves. As the posters will be on display, it will also provide the children with a sense of ownership and belonging in their classroom.
·                The poster can include information such as:
·                ·      Likes and dislikes
·                ·      Photographs of themselves or any family members
·                ·      Favourite foods, colours, animals, hobbies
·                ·      Any pets they may have
·                ·      What they enjoy doing most

This is just an example of things you could include, you can be as creative as you like. That’s all we ask is that the children are fully involved with creating the posters!
Please make sure you return the one page profile as soon as possible as this is now overdue.

Next week we will visit Forest School for the first time. Can you please make sure your child has a pair of wellies in school.

Thank you for your continued support, if you have any questions or concerns, please come and see me.

Mrs Tucker and the Early Years Team.
