Week 2

Dear Parents,
It was lovely to see the children settled back into the school routine. The children who are new to staying full-time were very excited to eat their dinner in the hall and take part in the daily mile! We had a great first week, especially with the sun shining.

A very big thank you for signing the sun cream form and providing a cream to stay in school. We spend a lot of time outdoors during the summer term and keeping them safe in the sun is a main priority in the nursery.

This week we will begin our activities relating to the topic ‘Land Ahoy’. We are in need of some egg boxes and kitchen roll tubes for one of the creative tasks, if you have any at home, can you please send them to school? The more we have the better.

I have booked a school trip for the 1st May, letters will be going out with more information this week. If you are available to help on the trip, please let a member of staff know.

I will be assessing the progress the nursery children have made in RWI this week. Please make sure you are still practising the sounds at home, the more times the children see the sounds the quicker they will learn them. We have started blending sounds together to read simple words during our RWI sessions, check out the link below to see how this is done.

Thank you for your continued support, if you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to see me. See you all tomorrow,

Mrs Tucker and the Early Years Team.
