Outdoor learning!

Outdoor learning plays a huge part in the children’s education within the Nursery! The outdoors is the ideal environment for experiential learning, because it offers unique opportunities to be creative, to move around, to be noisy and to take risks. The outdoors is full of special stimuli such as weather, sounds, smells and textures which can enrich and enhance a child’s learning environment.
Outdoor learning also encourages and promotes the children’s independence, self-esteem and well being. To encourage your child to become independent please can you give your child the opportunity to put on their coat as well as their shoes and socks. I gave the children a helpful tip today- put the hood on first and it will be easier to put their arms in. Here are some of the forest school pictures taken last week!
PS If you haven’t already done so, please can you send wellies in as soon as possible.
Thank you
Miss Day and the Nursery staff
