The next two weeks activities include:
- Thinking of winter words and thinking about what sounds the words start with. The children will then have a go at writing the letters either on paper or in shaving foam
- Day and night- the children will listen to statements and if they think the statement refers to something that happens in the day they will hold up a sun picture, if they think the statement relates to something that happens during the night they will hold up a moon
- Sequencing pictures according to what time of day they take place
- Sequencing pictures according to the change in season
- Circle-time activity. Using the emotions dice children will discuss what makes them feel happy, sad and angry. We will discuss how we can change from sad or angry to happy
- Making chocolate snowballs - the children will melt white chocolate and use Rice Krispies to make the snowballs. Throughout the activity they will discuss the change in chocolate, what happened when the chocolate was heated and what will happen when it cools again. They will then discuss what happens when snow and ice melts - what changes are reversible and ir-reversible
- Sorting activity. Children will sort clothes according to the weather
- Reading activity. Children will spend time in the writing area, looking at winter books. They will choose their favourite story and will have it read to them.
Along side these activities the children will take part in music, P.E, magic maths, ICT, and sound sessions.
Don't forget the introduction of our colour table, next weeks colour is RED
