Last Week

Bore da,

The final week of term has arrived. For me it has flown, but for many of you I know it’s been a long and challenging few months. So many of you have worked so hard with your children and the effort you have put it can be seen clearly in the wonderful photos you have shared with me. It has been a fantastic experience working with you all. I have enjoyed setting the activities, but most of all I have loved getting to know your children that little bit more.

This week’s  activities will be in preparation for the new term in September. I will be sending all parents a text this week to let you know when a video has been uploaded to the Nursery folder, it will be from their new teacher for September. Mrs Payne will be in Nursery and Mrs Dollman will be in Reception. Hopefully it will help your child feel more at ease and prepare them for the new term ahead. You will find it in Just2easy where I have been uploading stories for the last few weeks.

Activities

Activity 1

Your new teacher would like to find out all about you so could you show her. There are lots of online ideas on how to do this but this a great free resource you can use.

All About Me

Activity 2

Could you also create a photograph timeline all about your life? Here is an example for you:

For each photograph could you tell me what you could do at that age? For example:

When I was 8 months old I could crawl and my favourite food was rusks.

Activity 3

Here are some examples of great maths booklets to end the summer term on.

Activities 4 and 5

My last two activities involve mindfulness. Over the last few weeks we have learnt lots of different ways we can be mindful of our breathing. To do this last one can you make a meditation chain?

You can use beads or any little objects to do this. Make sure you only use 20 beads or objects.

When you have made your chain can you find a quiet space in or outside in your garden and sit down. You can sit on a pillow or a chair. Then close your eyes and hold your chain in both hands and rest it on your lap. Then take 3 deep slow breaths to start. You then need to breath gently and slowly and use your fingers to count the beads as you go along. When you reach 20, open your eyes and you should feel nice and relaxed.

Finally, the last activity is a relaxing one too.

Have a great Summer Holidays

Take Care and Stay Safe

Thank you once again!
