Dear Parents,
I am so impressed with how well the children have settled back into
the class routine after spending a week at home. We have had no tears and all
pupils have come in settled and eager to learn something new!
We have introduced Read, Write, Inc. (RWI) this week! The children
have learnt the sounds m, a, s. Please watch the videos below to gain more
understanding on how these sounds are taught and pronounced. The children have
enjoyed the sessions and we have been practising to write them in lots of
different ways. I will be sending home all the sound cards this week for you to
work on at home.
We received a new puppy friend to join us in the Nursery. Rex the
dog will be watching the children all week and will be choosing a child to
spend the weekend with. Charlotte was the lucky lady this weekend. I hope he is
having lots of fun! We have also started star of the day. Please keep an eye on
the window to see if your little one is star of the day.
We also listened to the first story of Christmas and have been
learning lots of new songs for our first nativity concert. For the first time
ever, Nursery will be performing on there own. I am sure we will have lots of
fun preparing for this over the next few weeks. All parts have been send home
and any speaking parts will be given out next week. If you have any questions
please just ask!
The letter for our Trip to see Santa will also be sent home this
week. We have plenty of helpers for this trip so there will be no need to take
parents, however there will be more trips throughout the year that will give
you the opportunity to attend.
On the day of the trip it will also be Christmas
jumper day and Christmas dinner day. The children can wear their Christmas
jumpers with normal school uniform for the trip and all children are invited to join the rest of the school for
Christmas dinner.
If you would like your child to stay for dinner, the part time
children can be picked up at 2.00PM, this will be on the 13th
December. If you have any questions please just ask!
There was an error on the text message sent home regarding the INSET
training day in February. I can confirm
that the INSET is on Friday 7th February.
Please see the blog post below with regards to Children In Need on
the 15th November. The PTA will also be taking Christmas pictures of
the children so can you please put a Christmas jumper in their bag.
I understand there is a lot of information and dates to remember at
the moment so please see the grid below to keep track.
Thank you for your continued support, if you have any questions please
come and see me.
