RWI

Welcome back everyone!

We have been listening to some of the children’s news and it sounds like you have all had a fantastic half term break!

We have already had a busy first week back deciding on our Christmas concert and yesterday we started Read, Write, Inc. This is the phonics programme we use as a school to teach reading. The children loved taking part and we will be developing our fine motor skills by forming the sounds in a variety of kinaesthetic ways.

The links below will take you to the RWI and Oxford Owl website where there is a range of videos that you can watch to see how the programme is delivered.

Please take the time to watch the videos, as it will really help you to understand how your child will learn to read over the next few years. Your support at home is vital to ensure the children make steady and positive progress!

If you are unsure of anything, please don’t hesitate to come and ask! Working together will achieve the best for your child.

Last but not least… snack money for this term is now due, a contribution of £7 will be appreciated.
See you bright and early in the morning,
Miss Haines and the nursery team.
