Good evening

The children have really enjoyed visiting the library over the past few weeks. It has been a big hit!

There are lots of fun and easy ways to help your child to get ready to read and looking at books together is a vital step to the process. Before you start reading a book, talk about the title, the pictures on the cover (front and back). Look through the pictures together and ask your child what they think the story might be about. As you read and when you’ve finished, sometimes ask questions about the story. For example, 'What was your favourite bit? What do you think about that? What would you do?'

Get your child to ask you questions too, the more involved they are the better!

Can I just remind you that in order for your child to change their book they MUST bring in the book from the week before, otherwise your child will not be able to change the book for a new one! Your child can bring one SMALL TEDDY on the day they visit the library to read to, no other dolls or toys are needed.

Over the past few weeks your child has been learning about autumn. As part of their home learning task I ask that you take your little one on an autumn hunt to see if you can find any signs of autumn. Look out for conkers, acorns, pine cones and anything autumnal! Please bring in what you find so we can begin to fill up our autumn tuff tray. We would also love to see a photo of your autumn adventure and stick it onto our autumn display wall!

Please bring all autumn finds and photos into school by Monday 5^th November.
