This year sees huge celebrations across the land for the centenary of the birth of one of the world's best story-tellers, Roald Dahl - who incidentally was born here in Wales.  You must have enjoyed reading his books when a child or even taken great delight in reading his magical stories about Charlie, Matilda and Danny to your own children!

Penygawsi Primary School have decided to celebrate this great author by holding a Roald Dahl week at school (week beginning the 12th of September), where there will be story sessions and activities based on the author's work.  To add to the atmosphere of the week it would be fantastic to see as many 'human beans' as possible (children and staff) dressed as one of the Roald Dahl characters on Friday the 16th of September.(or wear non school uniform for the day)  Imagine Mr or Mrs Twit, the BFG, Willy Wonka himself, or even an Oompa Loompa visiting our school.  We are also hoping to show a variety of his films in school on the Friday afternoon.  Your child's class teacher will update you with any further information regarding this exciting week.
