Last half term

Hope you have all had a good week, mine was very eventful! Can I thank you all for sponsorship, support and good luck messages you sent for my bike ride. I had an amazing time, I laughed and cried many times over the two days. I can not describe how I felt when I finished yesterday afternoon and I really don't think my legs could have turned the pedals one more time. I am very achy today and not sure if I will get down onto the chairs in the morning, or if I do I may not get back up again! Other than that I am all in one piece.

Not sure where this year has gone, we only have seven weeks to go until the end of the school year, but we have lots to do
Over the next two weeks our activities are related to the story 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Catastrophe'.
Activities include:

  • Recreating the story using props to help
  • Hot seating Hamish the cat (from the story)
  • Floating and sinking activities
  • Finding numbers and working out the lock combination to get Hamish out of the lighthouse
  • Making lighthouses, with emphasis on choosing the most appropriate materials
  • Circle time - good and bad behaviour
  • Making under the sea jelly, with emphasis on changes in the ingredients
  • Problem solving - how many different ways can we decorate a lighthouse
  • FOREST SCHOOL - following clues to find the lighthouse key
As it's the start of a new half term, snack money of £7 is now due. Prompt payment would be appreciated - many thanks

Don't forget the egg boxes and kitchen rolls we need!

Any problems you know where to find us :)
