New Half Term

I hope you all had a great week off, the weather was kinder to us that it has been. Let's hope today's rain doesn't last long!
We have a busy first week back. We have St David's Day celebrations on Wednesday, World Book day Thursday and we have Jonathan's Jungle on Friday.
We only had two votes from the children for world book day. Both voted for The Gruffalo, so we will be characters from that book.
Amongst all of the other lovely things going on this week will also be completing activities linked to the story 'Dear Zoo'. Over the next two weeks we will be:

• Comparing sizes of animals - looking at smallest, biggest, longest and shortest
• Counting animals in a cage and then recording the number of animals by writing the number or by making marks to represent each animal
• A group memory task - Working as a group to complete a picture
• Hot seating activity - children will discuss what they would ask the boy from the story, if he came to school
• Sort pictures of animals according to whether they are babies or mums and then play pairs
• Go on an animal hunt, the animals have escaped the children will need to follow the clues and foot prints to discover where the animals are
• Create pictures of animals on the computer using the 2simple programme
• FOREST SCHOOL - create mud paintings of animals

As tomorrow is the start of a new half term, snack money is now due. This half term is 6 weeks long, therefore payment is £6. Prompt payment would be appreciated.
