We have organised a trip to ‘The Bear Factory’ in Cardiff on Thursday 3rd March. As the shop can only take approximately 20 children at a time we have split the children into 3 groups. The groups will be leaving at half an hour intervals. We aim to leave with the first group at 9.15am. All children will be back by 12.30pm.
Each group has £25 to buy and clothe a bear, which will then live in school and may even take the place of Marmalade and Barnaby!
Parents that are joining us on the trip are welcome to stay in school all morning as we will be reading lots of bear stories and decorating cakes for our teddy bears’ picnic that we will be having later that afternoon - so there will be plenty to do! Children are asked to bring their own special bear from home, with your child’s name clearly marked on it and a favourite bear story, again with a name in it.
Pre-Nursery children (children that started with us in January) MUST be accompanied by an adult.
Any other questions you have relating to the trip please come in and see a member of staff.
Don’t forget …
We have St. David’s Day on Tuesday 1st March, where all children are asked to wear traditional Welsh costumes/rugby shirts.
We are celebrating World Book Day on Monday 7th March. This year we are focusing on Poetry. Children are asked to dress up as a character from a poem/nursery rhyme that they are familiar with. In class the children are very fond of books written by Julia Donaldson. As she writes in rhyme please feel free to choose a character from any of her books or any other character from a poem that your child might prefer.
Many thanks for your support - Enjoy half term. See you on 28th February!
